Beryll Travel Series: Salzburg
A Travel Diary by Beryll Founder, Petra Berg
Salzburg, August 2025
Salzburg is a city of contrast and harmony, where Mozart’s echoes meet cutting-edge art, and Baroque architecture surrounds minimalist style. I returned this summer to take in the Salzburg Festival, reconnect with old friends in the contemporary art world (and invite Malibu friends to join), and soaked in the timeless rhythm of a city that never rushes. Every moment felt composed, like a score unfolding in soft light.
WHAT I WORE
For a city layered in history and refinement, I brought pieces that echoed that spirit—elegant, versatile, and with a subtle sense of drama.
-
Tina XL Scarf in Black
I wore it loose over my shoulders at the Jedermann performance and wrapped it snugly at the Fortress. A seamless match for any occasion, always the right touch of softness. -
Sienna Dress in Black
Feminine yet quietly powerful, this dress moved effortlessly from gallery openings to terrace lunches. A true staple for city travel. -
Katharine Cardigan with Sparkle in Midnight
Just enough shimmer to catch the Salzburg twilight. I layered it over the Sienna Dress for evening dinners and concerts—it added a touch of magic—never trying too hard, yet unforgettable
HIGHLIGHTS FROM SALZBURG
Where I Ate
-
Breakfast at IMLAUER Pitter
On the terrace, with mountain light pouring in and the scent of coffee and freshly baked bread. The Fortress above, the city below, just beginning to stir.
-
Lunch at M32
A sleek, modern escape above the rooftops. Art on the walls, and on the plate. -
Dinner at St. Peter Stiftskulinarium
A candlelit evening in a restaurant older than time—dating back to 803 AD. Refined interiors, a glass of Riesling, and the perfect end: Salzburger Nockerln for dessert.
Where I Wandered
-
Salzburg Fortress (Festung Hohensalzburg)
A panoramic walk through centuries of power and design. I wore my Tina scarf here as the breeze picked up. -
Museum der Moderne
Bold, provocative, and perched above the city like a watchtower. Silvie Fleury’s exhibition was a standout—fierce, ironic, and hyper-feminine in all the best ways. -
Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac
I arrived for a buzzing opening and stayed for the conversations. -
Philipp Timischl Exhibition at Gallery Layr
The absolute highlight of my trip. Vulnerable, subversive, and deeply Austrian in its wit. His work challenged, disarmed, and lingered.

Cultural Moments
-
Jedermann at the Salzburg Festival
The ultimate open-air theater experience. With the Katharine Sparkle Cardigan catching the evening light, I felt part of the drama unfolding on Domplatz—baroque, intimate, unforgettable.
Salzburg teaches you to savor slowly—to layer elegance with ease. At +Beryll, every piece is designed with that same intention. Whether you’re seated on a terrace in Austria or stepping out for the evening in your hometown, take the spirit of Salzburg with you: timeless, tactile, and quietly luxurious.
